Rewire Live And Reason

Hello.
I am having difficulty hearing Reason when it is Rewired to Live. I have read through and done the tutorials, but something doesn't make sense.

Pressing play on either Reason or Live will play the other. They are synced and I can see the progress of each together. If I set up a midi track in Live, I can set Reason as the output with no problem. The problem comes when I try to set Reason as the input source for an audio track in Live. It does not appear as an option.

I also noticed that when I run Reason on its own, I can see that the meters in the rewire interface are moving and that there is audio (this is when the rewire interface says sound card). Once I open Live, then Reason, the rewire interface says rewire, but the meters don't show any audio in the rewire interface.

When the two are synced, I can hear Live fine.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks again.

the most common solution to rewire problems is to reinstall both programs.

i think that sometimes it is necessary to search out instances of 'rewire' in the registry and delete them.

try reinstalling. if that doesn't work then hit the registry, with standard warnings about f***ing with your registry blah blah. maybe have a search on the forum for registry/rewire, it's been posted many times before.

then if it's still not working, get some new ideas...

if you're on a mac, i don't know what the equivalent of editing the registry is

Got It

Okay, tried reinstalling and the problem was still there. It turns out the problem was my limmited knowledge of Live (I'm still a bit new to it). Apparently, Reason shows up as an input in Session view, but not arrangement view. Not very intuitive, but I got it working nonetheless.

Thanks for the help.

true. more specifically there is no input selector whatsoever in the arrangement view (unless i'm an idiot, which i'm not ruling out entirely)
