If someone knows why "bling bling'n" it at the movies on you cell phone (fully 50% of the theater) is OK, I would appreciate it.
I mean, fuck me for coughing up money to see a movie and having the nerve to interupt some gansta's text messaging session with the really bright screens all over the place or actually answering the phone......what a jerk I am.
It's not like the theater can do something about it.......they'll just get a cap in 'em, then who will serve the popcorn?
wow, I must really be uptight to be bothered by this..........guess I need to chill?

Insecure people, they need to be 'on the phone' so everyone can see how important they are.
I read about some device that can be installed that will block out mobile phones, read about it somewhere they were going to install it in school classrooms.
Would be awesome to get hold of a portable version of that

Most people are good.
It only takes one to ruin things for others in public.
There seems to be a misinterpretation of civil liberty here.
I was brought up to understand that my own civil liberties stop at the point they infringe on others.

Gonna be hard to make a portable version then
It was some kind of signal it emitted that fucked up the mobile transmissions somehow, there was an uproar about the system because they wanted it installed in public schools so little timmy couldn't use his freedom of speech to disrupt the class.
I wanted one so bad for home use, it pisses me off that people come over, then the fucking thing rings and they spend 20 minutes yakking on it, now I just tell people to end the call or get the hell out.
I don't even have a cell phone and don't want one, when I leave the house people can call again later, if they don't, then what they wanted to say wasn't important enough anyway, people are getting to dependant on the bloody things, can't leave home for a couple hours without it for fear that they might miss something, phone companies got them trained good.

every time my brother and i go to the movies, it's a horrible experience. people talking, phones ringing. we always say, if the next one is like this, we'll never go to the theater again...but of course, we still go.

I make them do the "walk of shame"
I snatch their cellphone and throw it to the front of the cinema.
If they're out of reach, i'll start throwing shit.
Seriously, if cinema rips give you a better experience then actually going to the cinema... Then whats the point?
It's always funny though... Phone goes off, you hear that person say "i cant talk right now, i'm in the movietheater.
Then you see 200 heads turning with the look of "no shit" on their face

Actually, here they've been showing some ads before the films for a good few years that tell people to turn off their phones in a funny way, and it's more or less worked. Not that I go to the cinema that often, but I don't think I've heard a mobile ringing more than once or twice.

how about the new trend of using speakerphones on public transport to listen to radio/mp3s ?
THIS one properly kills me!
I wish mobile phones had remained like the very first ones. CHUNKY, maybe installed inside a business suitcase, need a big f*ck off aerial and cost a mega fortune.
The world was indeed a better place

I'm just glad it's not only in the States that this happens. If nothing else, at least we share rude movie-goers with the rest of the world.
