Hi,
New here so please forgive me if this has been up already. Tried to search but found nothing.
here goes:

I know it´s possible to assign a knob to scroll up and down through the scenes. But is it not possible to assign a knob to make it possible to scroll the "activated track" left and right. and then just have one volumefader, one pan..etc.. that will react to the activated track? In that way you could have a really slim layout on the controller with only one fader and 3-4 knobs instead of ,as i use it now, all faders control all the volumes.

I´m running out of free faders and knobs here

The only way to scroll through tracks that I know of is to assign a button (or knob) to track view. Hit MIDI learn and assign the controller to the area around the name of the track.

I limit myself to 8 tracks, so I have 8 buttons dedicated to this.

You can also map computer keyboard keys to buttons in Live, that might be the best solution for you.

This has been a discussed feature for a long time. The Faderfox controllers simulate this behaviour by using a very elaborate .als template and invisibly stepping through lots of internal states in the controller.

It should also be possible to achieve something similar with Mackie Control emulation.

But there is no native/easy way to achieve this.

You can emulate Faderfox behaviour with eg. a custom Synthedit plug (I have done this) but you will still end up with a very rigid template (no new tracks, not changing the order of tracks).

Another solution is to use a controller that can very easily switch midi channels. This one from Kenton looks very promising:

ive posted on this before, a way to do it with a BCR2000 or BCF2000. its somewhat elaborate, and utilizes PLogue Bidule. i really dont feel like searching for my old post now, but maybe will later. first ill ask if youa re familiar with plogue?
