Hi folks,

Please send all beta version related feedback to [email protected].
If you think you have found a bug or a strange behaviour or whatever, please do not only post something in the forum. It's absolutely ok to do that but please get sure that you also send an email to [email protected].
It's much more difficult and time consuming to walk through the forum looking for beta feedback.


When founding a bug please have the following things in mind as a small check list:
- Does it also happen with Live 2.0.3 or Live 2.1b1?
- Is it reproduceable
- If yes, what are the steps to "create" this bug
- Try to reduce as much dependencies as possible (does it happen just with e special song?, or just with a certain audio/midi hardware? or just on a certain computer?,...)
- When sending an email try to include as much informations about your system as possible.

Subject: GUI performance boost

Platform: OS X

Improvement: A significant performance boost for the graphical user interface in OS X. After trying you'll never want to miss it so you should compare it to Live 2.1b1 or 2.0.3 from time to time to feel the difference :)

Subject: Clip doesn't play when firing and song is stopped (ReWire slave)

Platform: All

Bug: Under ReWire slave when firing a clip while the song is stopped and the song position is not at the play start marker the song will start but the clip will not play.

Status: The reason for this bug is that Live always makes a jump back to the play start marker when firing clips while the song is stopped.
We added a options for the Options.txt file that will change this behaviour so that the song just continous to play.
This option is called "ClipFireWillContinueSong".

I would really like to get feedback about this option. Personally I think the continue is the better behaviour when firing a clip while the song is stopped. What is your opinion?

Subject: Session clips sync (ReWire slave)

Platform: All

Bug: Under ReWire slave, when changing the song position in the ReWire master session clips lost the sync compared to the timeline. (Easy to hear when the metronome was on).

Subject: Timebar view update (ReWire slave)

Platform: All

Bug: Under ReWire slave, when changing the tempo (in Live or the ReWire master) the timebarview was not updated. This resulted in sync problems when using not warped clips in the arranger view.

Status: Fixed

Subject: Channel routing (ReWire slave)

Platform: All

Bug: Under ReWire slave, when selecting the desired Live out channels in the ReWire master, only the first stereo out of Live (L + R) worked.

Status: Fixed

Subject: Tempo setting when song is loaded (ReWire slave)

Platform: All

Bug: Under ReWire slave, when when Live started using a template song the tempo was set to 130BPM by default. Now it keeps the tempo from the ReWire master. Same will happen when loading a song under ReWire slave.

Status: Fixed

Subject: SDII files without ".sd2" extension

Platform: OS 9 & OS X

Bug: An SDII audio file without ".sd2" extension was not listed in Live's file browser.

Status: Fixed

I've figured out a little more of the problem I was explaining with the first beta... with the new beta I am able to get sound out of live when rewired into cubase but only when cubase is the active program...audio stops when live is selected for editing and clips were very hard to trigger ( also got the message on startup that live had detected problems with the rewire master)...thinking about this while writing this I went and unchecked "release drivers in background" in cubase under device setup and now everything works perfectly! no error messages or nothing!! Waddyaknow!! My dreams have come true!
