Live 5.2 crashes Logic 7.2.1 on quit

I am considering to buy Live for our studio but it seems not to work properly as a rewire slave with Logic 7.2.1 which is our major production app.
Steps to reproduce:
1.Start Logic 7.2.1
2. Start Live 5.2
3.Ensure there is rewire connectivity and playback
4.Quit Live
5.Quit Logic
--> Logic crashes on quit unexpectedly

This is NOT occuring with Reason 3.0.5, so I assume it is a Live 5.2 bug. Can you confirm this? I will not buy software that causes reproducable crashes in a Release version this easily.

Regards, M. Ludwig

Config: PM G5 2.3 GHz, 2.5G RAM, using built-in audio driver
OSX10.4.6, Logic 7.2.1, Live 5.2

I can confirm this happens when rewired to Cubase.
I have reported the rewire problems before 5.2 during beta testing and am waiting for the next update to fix these problems.
Have you contacted tech support? Maybe they will have some answers.

No, I haven't, because I do not own a copy of Live yet, I have only played on a colleague's machine for a day because I am interested in purchasing it.
Thank you for confirming this with a different Rewire host!
I see quite a few entries in the forum from Ableton employees, maybe they can give their input too if there is a workaround of some kind.

the same for me...

hi!

i have the same problem with live 5.2 and logic 7.2.1.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Start Logic 7.2.1
2. Start Live 5.2
3.Ensure there is rewire connectivity and playback
4.Quit Live
5.Quit Logic
--> Logic crashes on quit unexpectedly

but i've never lost song data or something like that. it's only a crash after closing logic. i don't know if it is bad for the program!?

Config: PM G5 dual 2 GHz, 3.5G RAM, using rme hdsp multiface
OSX10.4.6, Logic 7.2.1, Live 5.2

I just tried to replicate it with Logic Pro 7.1.1, and no crash. My 7.2 upgrade is on the UPS truck and scheduled to get here today, so I'll give it a test with that and report back.

The crash is happening on my machine with Digital Performer 5 as well,
Powerbook G4 667 Mhz, 512mb RAM, OSX 10.4.6, Live 5.2
I just tried to replicate it with Logic Pro 7.1.1, and no crash
Interesting, what version of Live? What version of the Rewire Engine? What version of the OS?

Edit: I'm installing 7.2 right now, will report back in a while

Logic 7.2.2? Is that some kind of pre-release?
same goes for protools 7.1
Thanks for confirming that, I guess that's all major sequencers then.
