Live 5.0.2 continuously crashing

Post by exz0rb » Thu Jun 15, 2006 9:20 am

Hi

This is becoming a HUGE problem, because now I can't have one live session without a crash somewhere along the line. I emailed this to the support staff this morning, but am not sure whether the support service is open at the moment.

Anyway, whenever using live, the application is guaranteed to randomly crash. At the moment, I am finding live way too unstable to do anything with, because it just crashes. I might be opening an effect, or inserting a new audio / midi channel, or even closing the application, and this annoying popup appears saying how live has encountered a serious problem (don't quote on that, but somewhere along those lines), and I have to terminate the application from taskmngr in order to close it.

Also, The live log file does not exist?, it is a fully genuine legit copy which I purchased from My nearest DV store.

My hardware configuration is:

Custom buit:

P4 - 3GHZ - Gigabyte titan series Motherboard
2GB ddr ram (2x1GB)
800MHZ fsb
250GB sata (high rpm) hard drive
Soundblaster Audigy 4 soundcard
Windows XP home - service pack 1

No internet connection, so its a dedicated production machine, and no virus / spyware or anything. Also no windows updates, just straight from the legit cd install I had of windows...

It is worth noting that I added this update from the original version of live which came on the cd.

There are system error logs, but I can't find the live log. The computer does NOT reboot when the program crashes, so it seems a problem with the application.

Cheers!

Gary
