TRIGGER FINGER

hows it going everyone?!? i just got the trigger finger and been messin with it for about a week now and have no idea around the damn thing. i did my research on it and heard great things about it, and also heard that it was real easy to use. Im really stuck with it! Does anyone know how to assign drums to pads. Im currently using Ableton lite live 5, does it matter if i use that or the full live 5 version! any help is good help. thanks

You will probably need to read the manual a few times to understand what you can do with your controlller and how to do it. That's the best advice I can give you. Use the software (enigma) or hit mem and progam change at the same time to edit the notes or CC number of each pad. You fist select the pad and then adjust the Note, CC, Channel, etc with the 8 knobs.

I think Live 5 Lite wouldn't allow you to assign midi to controls, however I understand there's an update on the Ableton site now (think it only came out in the last couple of days?). So download that to assign the knobs on the trigger finger.

I assume the trigger finger outputs midi notes for the pads, and I'd guess that these are the standard GM notes. for some reason impulse uses it's own standard which is an octave or two higher. Put the Pitch plugin in front of Impulse and set it to +12 and see if that works.

I uese the trigger finger, but I only use it on audio tracks to launch recorded samples. you just click the midi button on the top right and then click each section of the arragnment you want to assign a button and then hit the appropriate pad. The problem with this is that without the full version you are limited to only 4 audio tracks, and that limits the amount of sounds you have going to 4. I haven't messed with the midi stuff at all.
