Upgrade to 2.1 problem

Hi,

Today, I did the following things. I am on OSX 10.2.6, starting with Live 2.0.3:

1) downloaded Live 2.1 for OSX non-Japanese version
2) decompressed it and put it in my Applications/Music Apps directory
3) ran Live

At this point, a very odd thing happened. MakeAlias crashed (if you want a copy of the logs, I'll send'm to ya). But Live started up. So far so good.

But then:

4) I tried to run Reason. It hung. (2.0 no patches)
5) I ran Live first, then started Reason. Reason hung
6) ran reason first, then live -- live complained it couldn't open Reason

If someone could help me that would be cool. I'm copying this post into an email message to [email protected], but I'm also posting it here in case the solution helps anyone else.

Thanks,

if you load reason first, then when you load live, live complains that it can't open reason, probably because it's a rewire master. so you have to open live first.

but i thought one of the points of live 2.1 was that it worked in rewire slave mode?

whoops, my bad regarding reason as master: reason doesn't work as a rewire master with live. it says so right on the features page.

but, there is still my remaining problem of why reason won't open as a rewire slave anymore.

Ok. Ignore this thread. Reinstalling Reason made the problem go away. :)
