I bought my LIVE 5 last summer new from Guitar Center.

The other day I clicked the 'help' tab and selected 'check for updates....'

That brought me to Ableton's site. the message said that my software is up to date.

Below that message it says something like 'register your copy of Live'.

I clicked on it to see if I put my new address up and that is where the problem is.

My software is registered to some dude, and all I know is it's not me. How did this happen and why hasn't Abe's answered my email? It's going on three weeks now and I sent two messages.

I don't want to rearrange the info because if that dude who is registered to my serial number is doing something illeagal that would mean that he would be able to see all my personal info!!!

and what does posting this in the bugs forum accomplish ?

Well sir Adam Jay, it is sort of a problem for me. I don't know who to turn to to get this resolved. i post here so maybe others can say "hey the same thing happended to me!" or something.

Can I PM you or something? Do you know what is going on?
