Live 2.1 + Logic 6.1 in OSX (Rewire). Logic keeps quitting.

Logic 6.1 seems to be working fine on its own in 10.2.6, but as soon as I boot Live up and start working in Live, Logic quits. This seems to have gotten worse as I've added more clips to the Live song.
Live 2.1b worked fine, although I didn't try anything so complex as I'm doing now.
I've run Repair permissions in OSX.
I'll continue running tests to see if I can pinpoint where the "sensitivity" lies.

I've pinpointed the problem in this Live set down to the Grain Delay plug in. A soon as I added it, that's when the problems started occurring. It still happened (Logic quitting) a couple of times before - I had a couple of Live's EQs and a compressor running, but I haven't had time to ascertain if these were causing a problem - but one things for sure - add the Grain Delay and Logic hangs as soon as I start the transport, sometimes as soon as I boot the Live song that contains it.
This is a pretty powerful computer BTW, I don't think I'm maxing the CPU out - neither of these songs are THAT complex.

No, it happens with a blank Live song too. Took core audio with it this time. Had to restart the computer.
Come on Ableton, talk to me please.

Hi Tim,
please download version Live 2.1.1 (
www.ableton.com/download ) and try if it 's solved then.
The problem is probably related to this thread:

Thank you for replying, Alex.
Sorry, 2.1.1 is the version I'm using - I should have put that rather than 2.1.
I had a look at the other thread but I'm not convinced there's much relevance because these people are using Digi 002 and Pro Tools and getting crashes whenever they try to run both apps together, whereas I'm using Digi 001 ang Logic and the crashes are intermittent and exacerbated by the use of Live's Grain Delay plug in, which seems to cause an almost instant crash in Logic. I haven't fully tested other Live plug ins - but as I said earlier I had a compressor and a couple of EQs running OK, but as soon as I add the Grain Delay plug in, Logic quits.

Hi Tim,
ok Tim, sorry for misunderstanding.
So do you start Logic, then Live, add a Grain Delay and it crashed Logic?
- Which sample rate do you use in Logic?
- How many disk space is free on your system partition?

Alex

OK, I hope I'm not speaking to soon here, but I may have sussed out the problem. In Logic's "Audio Hardware and Drivers" settings there are two Rewire settings called:
Playback Mode (Less CPU Load)
Live Mode (Higher CPU Load)
I had it set to Live Mode. So I changed it to Playback Mode, and so far I haven't had Logic quit, and I put in two Grain Delays and an Autofilter.
But.....I've only been at it for 10/15 minutes, so I'll update a little while later.
BTW Logic's Sample Rate is set to 44100 and I've got 93.66 Gig free on my system drive.
Thanks for your time, Alex.
Watch this space....
Tim
PS Loving Live!
