Hey, how do you call this kind of music?

Normally i´d say it´s not quite my style but i´m half-way through it and like it very much!
Very curious how it will go on. I hope it keeps rockin´(but how could it not?)!

it's called 'breaks' i guess, but it's the most ill defined genre there is.

breaks refers to cutting up breakbeats (ie the beat found in the 'break' of a song, compositionally speaking. the 'break' is the part where the band takes five and the drummer/percussion section takes over, such as the infamous 'amen break' in Amen Brother by the Winstons'). this means that hiphop, jungle, funk, etc. all fall into the category of 'breaks' technically. then there's nuschool breaks, like at the end, which is much more futuristic sounding with lots of heavy subbass. this genre spans hiphop, breaks, and nuschool, but you could probably get away with playing some of the tracks in a house set as well.

hope that explains it a bit...

enjoy!
