Saving assigned buttons to controller

As those of you who pay attention to these things know - I am learning to use a pair of M-Audio X-Sessions to control live (without much luck at times

).
Just a quick - stupid - question: I keep programing the controller to recall my carefully assigned functions in Ableton for each of its buttons, but every time I re-open Live, then hit recall on the controller, no joy and no presets... any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi mate,
Its covered in the manual, but you have to do this:
Hit recall and press the channel number your on.
Hit store.
Now when you recall presets for a saved Live set, all assignments should be saved and working correctly.

Also, the Enigma software (
http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.enigma) is a great piece of software for managing your X-Session presets, if you don't already use it.

I've never got my round Enigma. Think I need to just sit down with it for a little while.

I looked at Enigma when I was trying to work this out - it is exactly that to me - a bloody enigma!
I am now happy in my little world sticking little white stickers all over my X-Sessions saying what everything now does!
