Always put the start flag on the '1' on all your loops and make sure they run for an even amount of time, like 1, 2, 4, 8 etc measures.

When you organise a loop it helps to have another known good loop running, or use the metronome. For me, I know a loop is in the pocket when the metronome sounds like a cowbell and fades into the mix. I have mine turned halfway down. The metronome volume is the same as the cue output, the dial above the master volume. Some people hate the metronome, I use it about half the time.

It all takes time and practice.
