actually Jon I beta tested reason 3 then sold my license because I couldnt believe they still didnt have any kind of audio in or full duplex rewire - but more because I couldnt do anything with it I couldnt do better with Live + NI (I have Komplete 2 but really Reaktor would be enough)
But before doing anything I'd wait and see what Live 6 holds

Reason 3 even without audio really impressed me.
I had 2 and 2.5 but never really gave it enough credit or time.
Just learning how to make good sounds in it using my own samples in the instruments...good fun.
If you like reason and use it alot I would update it definately.
Class about the tune as well.
I will check it.

yeh I think it was actually more that all the things they added were no use to me
IMO Reaktor is so much more useful
Reason is like a good "out of the box" starter pack for people starting out - and some people get such a good workflow with it the ykeep using it as a sound source - but after I got that amazing Komplete 2 deal for about £200 quid or close the NI sounds make reason look amateur
I seriously think now Live has this combinator style device grouping they are going to do some damage to propellerheads (although i suppose the difference there is more about cost)

Hey man, great track and congrats for getting fergie to play it
Can I ask how you use reason+live together?
I mean do you get all your sounds from reason and just program the arranagements in Live, or do you just use reason for a few special things?
Best thing I found in reason3 is the mastering sweet + combinator together. Means if your layering kicks you can group all your kicks in a combinator, each kick with its own compressor and EQ, mix them in a mixer, and keep it all in a nice and easy to see/use combinator.

Cheers....i used to use rewire but it was nothing but hassle, now i either write the song in reason then mix/master the parts in live or make a few main loops in reason and add other synths etc in live.
the masteringsuite in reason 3 looks good but i think i would just keep using what im used to so i might just leave the upgrade.
looking forward to live 6 mind you
