i am sad ...i bought live 3 weeks ago
the title says most of it.
i REALLY don't have 150 MORE dollars to pay. the 279 was a stretch. if i upgrade now, i will have effectively paid for the program. not cool.
i KNOW i could, in theory, have waited. i am not so much bothered by that, i am bothered that i the upgrade path SCREWS me.

Yes a fare point except in all previous years they had a grace period of approxamitaley a month. Now they havent so i will be paying almost the same price for my upgrades within the space of a month as buying a 2nd instance of live complete. i have been using live since 2001Johnisfaster wrote:don't they announce a new version of live at namm every single year?

You guys bought Live 5. Not 6.
Asking for a free update will just pass as noise...
The upgrade is 99€ , which is only 50€ above what the grace period fee would normally be. But remember, those years it costed 150€ to upgrade to the next Live version.
The upgrade price seems fair to everybody now. To Long-term users (who pay the most ALWAYS), recent users and future users that are unaware of Live 6.

i could take a $50 jab in the side. i could grin and bear it. but 150 (i like boxes) brings me RIGHT UP to the cost of buying live 6. and 1 month is not really much time difference. i am NOT asking for a free upgrade (although i wouldnt mind) i am asking not to buy the whole program within the space of a month.
oh come on - the murmers of live 6 have been around for a good few months now - do you REALLY need to upgrade, does live 5 not do what you bought it for?? i researched and had used live 4, and bought live 5 day it came out, it does everything i need, but if i hadnt bought 5 id be paying full whack for 6, instead as an existing registered user ill get an upgrade at a discount no doubt, which i dont have to take if i dont need. to be honest i know of no other company/industry that gives a grace period, i can understand some people being a bit miffed due to bad timing but thats not the companys fault is it!
i can see where your loyalties now lie for obvious reasons. thankshoffman2k wrote:You guys bought Live 5. Not 6.

that will be 240 euro approx for me in the space of 1 month. live user since 2001. So i see you started using this forum in 2004. i am also aware you are an Alpha tester so you feel obliged to back Ableton up now.
I,m rightly pissed off. As you would be Correct ?
