im glad i decided to build my own.

im also glad that since ive decided to do this and pay for the kit, no controller company has released a decent one. based on the last three years and the future prospects, it looks like a good investment.

It does seem like a useless piece of junk....

The I/Os are a joke! i don't know about torq, it looks a bit tacky for me.
It's funny how it says in the top features "designed by M-Audio's SynchroScience group". SynchroWHO??? 2 Google results...that's a new personal record...

it doesn't seem to be a controller at all, just an audio interface with 2 big gain knobs. i think the software is rather interesting since it can be a rewire slave, could be interesting in combination with Live. the video on sonicstate with the eager hobbit is rather entertaining.

Torq can be controlled via mouse, keyboard, MIDI controller or control vinyl/CDs. The program also organizes a user’s digital files into a quickly searchable database. And for additional sound shaping and performance options, Torq supports third-party VST effect plug-ins and includes both a dedicated sampler and performance recorder.
Just quoting... i don't know anything about this gear, but it looks to be alot more than just the shity knobs on the controller itself...

check the hobbit video on sonicstate - unlike Traktor/FinalScratch, it actually looks like ... fun.

The press on this doesn't seem to explain what it really does very well. I watched the video and I am impressed. I'd have to play with it to really be sold but this is something that I have been hoping to see for a while. The software is really what this is all about. Once I saw him use the trigger finger with it I understood. This thing is more like Serato Scratch than a controller. The fact that you can rewire it and insta load samples to scratch is da bomb!
Check the video and you'll see.

the details on m-audio's site also seem to imply that it can use vst fx, which would rock since i'd rather use something like Dubstation instead of a generic delay plug.

shouldnt bash it unless youve actually tried it..... it looks like it has some potential, especially since it has vst support and can slave to ableton, im looking forward to trying it

OK, I will retract my previous

The one thing that gets me though is that Torq is being sold only with the hardware. I don't see any need whatsoever for that particular piece of equipment. They didn't even show us what it does in the demo video.

i assume it would be required for the timecode vinyl/cd action.
