LIVE 6 : it's time for the CROSSFADES curves between clips!

Please, think about this (arrange mode)
I don't speak about this very short fade made to not 'clicking', I speak from a full possibility to make a long or short crossfade.

Cause we need for example to make smooth crossfades (long or short) between synth pads or many material. Think about it : Protools, DP, Logic....
I think it's very usefull! In the arrange mode, on the timeline!
To make crossfades of durations varied between the clips, is a very significant functionality...
You made deep freeze or video import, for Live 6? OK! But think about C-R-O-S-S-F-A-D-E-S !

:D

i agree.

at the very least for Arrange. Session would be nice too, but probably much more complicated.

in arrange, it could be added to a consolidate menu or something of that sort. right click - consolidate, or consolidate and fade.
leads to menu "start fade at... end fade at... choose curve...."

This is something I would use a lot as well. I've been editing a lot of podcasts in Live and a feature like this would be really handy to smooth transitions out.

Crossfades... Still AWOL?

I'm afraid this isn't mentioned anywhere as a new feature in 6, I was hoping it would be in Live 5, and now it seems to have been ignored this time too. Please, someone come on and tell me that I'm an idiot that missed the memo that LIVE 6 has cossfades!

If you have ever edited something in ProTools, and used the crossfades on the same track, it's easy and quick, and if Live ever adds it, it will likely kill my use of ProTools. I won't need to use it anymore.

But as it is, lacking this crucial feature is keeping LIVE from being seriously adopted by my ProTools buddies, who have a good point: "What kind of DAW doesn't let you do THAT?"

Nothing gives away an edit like a sound getting cut off, and when LIVE makes you use two tracks to make a smooth edit, it's time consuming and uses two tracks - NOT A GOOD LOOK!

ABLETON... PLEASE! Add this PRO feature. It's far more important than yet another collection of woodwind, strings and piano samples.

YES!!! This is one of the main reasons LIVE is more of an enhanced drum loop manipulator rather than a full composition environment for me- I hit stop on a textural, long release sound, and it waits the specified quantize amount, then stops abruptly...
An adjustable crossfade time at the clip level would solve this-As would a release envelope per clip, that would fade the clip out over a specified time when the stop button was press or another clip was activated.
I use a lot of long release, textural sounds in my music, and this gets in my way alot!
I'm waiting until a solution to this problem is implemented to upgrade...

i would like to see curves for crossfades in session view. one could set this up in preferences so no extra space in the GUI is needed. every style/person requires different curves. By allowing the user to draw a map on a 128*128pixel xy map, strange crossfades would be possible too.

CROSSFADES!

usefull, but definitly against the track philosophy of ableton: one track, one "signal".

crossfades mandatory

LIVE absolutely needs contextual crossfades AND fades-in and -out in arrange view. it is standard fare in every DAW for a good reason, and a major omission in LIVE's functionality as long as it purports to be PRODUCTION software.

Time for a BIZZUMP

I know this has been discussed a lot, and that it's a hard feature to implement (there would need to be two instances of a clip player for each track) but it would be extremely nice.

Especially nice would be if crossfades worked in the session view too, but I'd probably use this more in the arranger, doing surgery on recording takes.
