Questons about live 6 controller mapping

Post by nolus » Thu Jul 20, 2006 7:07 am

When you map one control to multiple destinations:

1, Are those destination controls 'tied' together, so that if you adjust one via the GUI the others change as well - maybe in proportion to the scaling params?

2. how is controller feedback handled - does it respect the scaling parameters?

And can more than one controller be mapped to the same destination? ie to allow say contrroller 1 to adjust destinations a,b and c while controller 2
adjusts b, c and d.

annyone know the answers?

I can tell you that I have been told that the answer to your last question (can multiple controls be mapped to the same destinations?) is no.

I would assume that the answer to 1 is no also, given how Live 5 currently handles GUI manipulation w/r/t controller assignments - but I couldn't say for certain.

thanks for the info, so it looks like i'll still need to keep using PD for these types of "special" mappings.

i'm still really curiious to know how feedback is handled.
