I agree, i wouldn't waste your time or money! There are plenty of tutorials online. If you want to spend the money, you're better off using AskVideo, or Digital Doctor. You'll learn more from watching those things then you ever would at a seminar.

Actually that is true. When I go to seminars with my job, you kinda feel almost cheated afterwards 8O

I actually think it looks really good. Check out the outline on the second page

It seems like a good way for a beginner to quickly get a full picture of the entire process rather than just picking up tidbits here and there as I encounter various roadblocks.

Also, it's not just abstract like a book or DVD. They'll actually use the techniques in practice so you get an idea how a pro actually uses EQ, compression, etc.

there is only one way to learn how to make records....it is by making records!
what works for one song (compression, eq, ect) may or most likley will not work for another song.

i mean sure i could tell you to put reverb on the snare for EVERY track you mix and make the decay last untill the next kick and shit like that BUT what if the track is going for that dry 70's funk sound.....well that would be bad advise.

i say use your ears/gear......go to gearslutz.com READ/RESEARCH and TRY to get the sounds you a looking for.......then someday down the road you will have a better understanding as to what is going on.

THERE IS NO SHORTCUTS IN LIFE!!!

well unless you goto "FOOLSALE" recording and then get a job at guitar center
8O

i say save your money and practice ALL THE TIME!!!

peace
