Best Live 6 feature addition

Post by headquest » Fri Jul 21, 2006 10:28 am

Now that we've had time to digest the press announcements, I wonder which Live 6 features excite users here the most?

To keep the list simple I have just reproduced the main headings from the Ableton Web announcments. So where necessary just vote for the group of features that applies. 8)
iMac Retina 4K 3.3Ghz i7, 16Gb RAM
Live Suite 9.7.1 + Reason 9.1 + Pianoteq 5 + Sibelius 8.5

Good point! But I don't imagaine there can be anyone who isn't interested in at least one of the new features, even if on balance they are not planning to upgrade *at this time*

Is there any way to edit the options and add "none of the above"?

Sorry - it does not seem possible to add an option at this point once the poll has started. But there no doubt is/will be a seperate poll about whether people plan to upgrade at all.

For the sake of this poll, it will be interesting to see which new features jump out the most as things that Live users really are pleased to see.

[And maybe spot any that arouse no interest at all of course  ]

You know what, I am astonished.

I was, at first, a little peeved about the cost of sampler and the EIC. However, when you look at the upgrade as is, without those things additionally, it is quite something for what we are being asked to pay.

This always happens, every upgrade cycle. People moan about not getting enough new features, then somewhere in the middle of the cycle, people moan about LIVE getting bloated like other DAWs. Boy, am I glad that I am not a part of the Ableton team. I would be really dismayed, feeling like my girlfriend didn't appreciate me at all.

Bit disappointed with extra price for instruments that can't be used outside of live.

I deliberately omitted Sampler from the poll as it is being sold as a seperate product, and yes I'm somewhat disappointed too by the apparently high cost.
But let's see what it's like when the demo comes out (from what the alpha testers have said, it does sound excellent), and see what bundles they offer on that  .

I was making a snarky joke based on the initial feedback from the live community.... I would have voted for macro support, though, had you added that as an option.

I think that comes under "Instrument and Effect Racks" unless I misunderstood.
