We hit 115° here today. They said it was a mere 107° on the news but we have two accurate gauges locally.

107° was supposed to be a record.

Power plants are shutting down under the strain of demand.

I expect the UV levels were extreme.

Yep it was hot as f@4k over here in Riverside..Then the wind started to blow, and then it rained for a few minutes..

here in michigan its actually been a very mild summer so far.
it has only hit 90 a few times.

Last night was the hottest night ever recorded in Oregon.

I am 100% sure its due to global warming. In about 100 years we might have to adapt to temps. in the 120°'s. Don't believe me? I don't care.

Though I am sure we will all blow each other up before that happens *cough cough North Korea cough cough*

I live close to you, in San Bernardino. 113 was the peak over here.

cali dudes.......let's all move to crescent city.....where I just got back from 62 degrees, with awsome beauty, and prices that are affordable.

Oh, did I mention that in my reasearch shows an overall highest temp ever in history of 91 and the highest snowfall of about 5 inches! (or, if we go to oregon/brookings it was about 7 inches snow and 93 for a record high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and the 20'ish to 60 ish for a house doesn't hurt! (ok, it's a "manufactured" home........who the fuck cares!!!!!!!!)

I'm serious.............I'm going back next week to talk with realtors and what the "hidden" costs/problems are.........but I balled like a baby with redwoods and beaches and "smallness" and beauty and ...........

shit this is old news..even being a backwoods knotty-head hippy sitting about in alaska you can watch the glaciers disappear

and i'm not talking a little bit, i mean they climb up the hill. over 10 years of visiting the same glacier pool (portage AK for the googleheads) I can say that i have first handedly watched glaciers disappear and fast, like sad sad fast.

lasst visit to that vally.. i could hardly find glaciers

the warming part is only the beginning.

well, here in queensland it's been around 30c (dont know farenheit) and it's still technically winter

we're sub-tropical but that still seems warm for winter - global warming is right I think

that's 86 °F.

Yesterday was 103 °F / 39 °C

Today a couple degrees cooler, but you can't really tell.

so riddle me this: the earth's temperature is rarely static, always going up and down. throughout most of the planet's history, the earth has been way, way hotter than now. so why should i be surprised that the earth is currently warming somewhat? if you could prove the warming is the result of human processes, and is likely to cause more harm than the cost of trying to stop the warming, i might buy in. but i'm not sure how you can prove the cause is human where the earth warms of its own (yes, i know about the hockey stick, etc.).
