you Only get 1 Filter per instance?

I can hear the replies already: "but the racks man! the racks! as many filters as you want!"

I might get sampler for it's integration in live, but it seems like it's basically an exs24 with less modulation options, and with extra distortion effect (via the fm osc).

The device racks make everything a star though.

racks are definately fun though but thats it right, One filter per instance, so close...

If only there was a group of users who published kits, patches, clips and effects for use in Live, they could come up with something workable.

BUT WHO??

well, it's gotta be at least two, cause i got some freaky stereo going on by sending lfo 3 to filter morph and makeing the lfo "spin"

spent my first 2.5 hours with 6 just playing with sampler. i'm lovin that shit.

dont need more but id like to have more, especially with the filters on hand, seems like the way the interface is clean and very well arranged and set up with the browser and Live in General, youd be able to just add a filter with a layer or something. i just assumed youd be able to do this with sampler. also, maybe im just used to most other multisamplers out there that you can have multiple filters per instance. but then there are lots of other features that you have with sampler that you dont have wth multi-sampler.
not a complaint by any means more of me just being surprised.

Say you map a group of vocal samples to C1 to C2, from C#2-D3 you map found sounds... basically you use a multi sample sampler like you would expect to with building your own kits. What possible reason would you want with a global filter in this case?
Trying hard not to be snippy, but it's pretty obvious why you would want to be able to add different filters to different samples.

I think the point is that you use multiple samplers for multiple groups of samples. So everything you want filtered together, fm'd together, panned together etc, you do in one sampler, and so on.

I know it's not 'what we're used to', but I quite like it myself.

How then is it compatible with libraries in its supposedly supported formats if it cannot have settings per sample? Does it auto construct a rack?

Anyone care to share some Sampler presets they've cooked up?

I tried Kontakt for a while, sounded amazing, mutlisamplers kick ass. I mostly used it for realistic sounds, pianos and drums but the demo didn't last that long. I wish that program had an undo, it's kind of unfriendly like that.

Question:
I can't seem to get the decay working, key presses gate the sample, I'm not getting any tail end audio after I release the key. I assume the Sustain and Release work like an ADSR filter, I should be able to stretch the sample out so it plays well after I release the key. Any clues?

hear you man. but then say for instance you want to modulate all layers with a single LFO, yeah just set an LFO of the same frequency to the same destinations(s) with the same amount.... at all layers = lots more CPU. you just convinced me more.. :o

"edit all" is a standard option on any other sampler so thats no problem to apply a global LFO etc. CPU useage is minimal.

that just means this new approach needs an LFO/Envelope device
