i'm trying to create a crossfade with out the crossfader looks like it should work..but the track levels just jump around

EDIT..track one works as it should track 2 jumps around

i want 1 to go up when 2 goes down and vise versa

i could use the crossfader, but i would need two crossfaders (or 3) to get my goal

With Live 5 sometimes my BCR MIDI settings go goofy when I first assign them. I delete the assignment, reassign and all's well. Do they work one at a time? Are you sure your controller is sending cc values of 0-127?

i tried two different controlers even

I noticed the same thing, trying to map one control to 2 different destinations inside a rack.

You can map to as many destinations as you like as long as they are not inside a rack and it works perfectly. But if they are inside a rack then only the first destination to be mapped works correctly, the others jump around unpredictably.

It look like only the "macro" controls can be mapped to multiple destinations inside a rack.

This must be a bug

If mapping controllers across the "rack boundary" is allowed - instead of via the macro controls - then it should work properly.

If it's not allowed then it should tell you so.

A couple of thoughts

1. Shouldn't you be using a macro if you want to automate two controls inside a rack. (I presume thats why 6 doesn't allow normal multiple assignments inside a rack.)

2. Have a look athe the preset "Subtle Space" in Pads. This includes a dry through signal so you would be able to do what you want within one rack rather than with two input channels.

Hope I've understood what you were tryong to achieve.

I was going to say the same thing: Have an empty chain and a beat-repeat chain inside the rack, and crossfade between them using midi.

Also, while assigning, make sure that the menu at the bottom of the screen doesn't read "relative something-or-other", it should be set to Absolute, most likely. If it's not then that could cause the jumping you've experienced.

yeah the effect rack works...but i like the 2 track method..as that way i can load the effect rack and manage it easily and keep my dry track where i wont loose track of it
(that beat repeat is just there to test the setup)
