I'm running Ableton with a UC33 controller for DJing and I've tried to cure the latency problem from when you move a slider or nob on the UC33 to when it actually moves on the screen but to no avail. I also found on this forum that the UC33 has a built in latency to make it smoother in operation.

For DJing when slamming in tracks the uc33 is useless as the delay is about half a beat so you always miss the first beat that you want the track to come in on and it sounds awfull. So my question is:

1) is there any way to get rid of the latency in the UC33

2 if not then what midi controllers that are simular to a club mixer, don't have a bad latency?

Whatever latency the sounds from within your computer have to go through before you hear them cannot be reduced by any kind of midi controller so

1) no. Try reducing the audio buffer size.....but then again your CPU will hit max load sooner with less going on eq and fx wize so you have to compromise.
2) there are no midi controllers with better latency as far as I know. You just need a faster computer.

You can do awsome things with them but it does come at a cost.

It's not to do with the speed of my computer etc it's a 2ghz 1gb ram 100hd laptop with no other programs running on it except Ableton, the laptop was bought to be soley used with Ableton in a live environment. I've found out the UC33 has a built in latency to make it smoother.

It's not an audio latency as that is next to nothing on my computer but a latency between when you move a fader on the UC33 and when it actually moves the fader on the screen.

I believe the latency on the UC 33 cannot be cured judgeing by other posts so are there any other controllers that do not have this built in latency?

Sorry, I have not heard of a built in latency for my UC33. If I set my audio buffer to very small number ie 400 samples ish, and turn off the audio input for the computer, it then reacts VERRY quickly to my UC33. Its not analog but still verry quick. My pc is a 2.3ghz, 512mb desktop.

As soon as I start increasing the buffer though, out of wanting to run more fx, the UC33 does slow down and this is just normal with any computer, any controler.
