live lite 4 & line6 toneport ux1 problem

hey there. i recently bought the toneport ux1 & installed the live lite 4 that came w/it (i think it's 4.1.6 if that matters). when i run live it runs fine, but then i try to open gearbox & my system hangs, slows to a halt COMPLETELY. i also tried the other way around, running gearbox by itself (runs fine), then opening live but it still hangs. i'm running a p3 500mhz with 384mb ram. is this a simple "low system resources" problem or something else?
