more fw410 problems

recently my maudio fw410 randomly stops responding to midi. the little yellow button on the top right of ableton doesn't light up. in preferences the firewire 410 is selected as usual. restarting ableton doesn't help. restarting the computer doesn't help. eventually it just works again for no reason.
I've tried several midi cables. and I've updated the drivers. maybe my unit has gone bad? or is anyone else with a fw410 having a problem?

Can you please check if this is related to
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44106 ?
So just switch it Off and On in the MIDI preferences to see if it then works.

you know what I think this might be a FW410 issue - I get this - but have done for a while
I've never been able to find a specific cause - I usually just use my UC33 as a midi interface

I have tried switching it off and on in preferences. of course I've never tried starting live with the unit not plugged in, then plug it in, then switch it off and on.
what a pain...

i never really manged to get midi properly from my FW410.
anyway, i think you should first get the mac-equivalent of midi-ox, just to check if you get some midi signal from your FW410 into the computer, without even launching Live.

a few days ago i was having this problem so I got the latest driver and it started working. now I'm having this problem again and I reinstall the driver and it's working. this is irritating. though it appears to be an maudio problem(big suprise)

This indicates indeed a driver related problem.
So I moved this thread into the Bugs and Problems forum.
