OS X mystery: my Live files suddenly turned into weblinks!

Can YOU solve my mystery?
:?
I use a Mac dual G4 OS X 10.2.6, and Live 2.1.1

I made some tracks using Live 2.0.1, and then upgraded to Live 2.1.1 and continued to work on my tracks.

One day, they would not open. It says 'this was created using a later version of Live than this one.'

I did the usual trashing of the preferences, re-try, reinstall & upgrade Live, re-try...no luck.

After sending the file to the good folks at Ableton, I finally just opened it in TextEdit and they were right, it's nothing but a longggg list of weblinks (that I've been to over the last 2 weeks).

Is SoBig.F now on OS X? Did I get wormed?
Did OS X software updater accidentally replace all my .als files with my Safari keychain list?

It's wicked weird, any ideas? :?:

??
Sounds like you have a serious issue there...very weird.

try repairing the disc with some of the tools in the utilities folder in the application folder.

You can use OnyX (free) to run all the UNIX scripts that normally run at 3am, repairing permissions usually good.

www.osx.free.fr

No known viruses (except office macros) run on OS X (yet).

hope that helps,

K

did you do trashing of just ableton preferences, or OS X USER preferences. If you havent erased the OS X USER preference, do that. It will be a pain in the neck to put all your setting back in on your programs, but it could fix your problem
