I seem to have us2400 working percfectly with the 5.2.2 update
settings :
SEL and Aux 3 (DP preset)
Active devices : NO selection of track or remote or sync for us2400 in input and output - try it it stll controll without this
and below in remote control surfaces for input output
mackie port 1 in+ out , mackie xt port 2 in+ out , mackie xt port 3 in+ out

hi
read the us 2400 manual for whatever setup you are using..this will tell you what knobs may be mapped to.
I use DP and aux one for sends
shift play for play from current position etc etc.. its easy if you just try the DP ( or logic) options and see what they do
if you want to get more involved search for my name and i have posted more on GUI mapping elsewhere here

Stale Bread, you should really be in "Sonar Mode" Sel+Aux2, i don't think it workeds as good in Native Mode.
And your problem with other things moving sounds like the mode your in. I posted on the tascam forums in your thread about how to set it up with ableton. Not sure if you saw the post. But check it out when you get chance,
Add me to the list of US-2400 Users hopeing to see some more support for it. Such a wonderful controller.

Yeah man, i think theres just an elite few of us using it with live.
But, yeah I'm making a freakin guide over on those forums. Maybe we can get some useful info collected. *fingers crossed* Theres absolutely no info on the use of it with Live. So i think its well needed.

each to ones own
Im now using live 5.2.2 on mac osx 10.43 in the US2400 in sel aux 3 DP mode and I have no more problems.
I have the us2400 DESELCTED for all track and remote options except the mackie and 2 mackie xts to ports 1,2 and 3 respectivley
th remote operates as it should now...
I can also use midipipe to change cc messages eg to control the CS80 synth audio unit (this isnt possible with simple learn function (control click)) in the cs80 so it needed to be captured and sent on in cc format
also i can remap computerkeys to browser actions like open browser ... insert eq etc etc with quickeys...
finallly no more frustration
i guess its always been a machine, OS and live version specific thing as well as what plugins you use... Im using Ni komplete and operator with Ozone plugins too.
I guess as good practice for us all on the forums we should really be posting with our specific configs so others know what affects them...otherwise its too vague to be useful.. maybe to make threads platform, OS version then live version specific
anyway ...i digress

thanks for that info wooly and if you think of anything else good for the us-2400 please post it up.
question, what do yo mean by you have the us-2400 deselected for all track and remote options except the mackie and 2 mackie xts to ports 1,2 and 3 ???
isn't that the only way you can have it 'selected' in the first place?
i'm a little confused about that part of your post could you clarify

hi mr crusty ;0)
what do yo mean by you have the us-2400 deselected for all track and remote options except the mackie and 2 mackie xts to ports 1,2 and 3 ???
isn't that the only way you can have it 'selected' in the first place?
i'm a little confused about that part of your post could you clarify
the options in live for ACTIVE DEVICES may appear that you NEED to select the us2400 as a device for INPUT AND OUTPUT for track, sync and remote for ports 1-6 ..the thing is YOU DONT
live will be controlled by the us2400 ANYWAY...and if you select it this way it may be the source of your crashes...
if you do not select these i.e. they arent lit up as being selected then they are deselected or at least not selected...
all you really need is ..
REMOTE CONTROL SURFACES set up as follows
control surface input output
Mackie control port 1 port 1
Mackie control XT port2 port2
Mackie Control Xt port3 port3
This is how i have figured this out with my own testing and communication and bug reports with ableton support and testing for about two months... with mac osx 10.4.3 , and mac intel osx 10.4.7 and live 5.2.1..
in the end 5.2.1 failed to be stable for me as it was crashing too much especially with delete tracks and delete or isnert plugins ..and some fader movements...and the intel mac i got was a disaster (but i may have just been a bad machine-which i have now returned and rolled back to my G4 and the new live update version 5.2.2 )
SO with the 5.2.2 release..the abs have sorted the issues i had with mac osx 10.4.3, the US2400 ( am using version 1.20 firmware as 1.30 was not happening well and i rolled back... i havent tested 1.31 with live 5.2.2 though so it might work for you)...but i am sticking with what works for me )
eventually i will neeed a more powerul machine but am a bit wary of the intelmacs given my personal experience..though i have a friend who has no problems running other stuff..protools, logic etc.. i will probaly wait until a few more releases have been rolled out..
I hope thats clear enough for you

Ok, well I'm using Windows XP, so it might be better in a different mode on OSX. Sonar Mode 2 Seems to work fine. Another mode worked as well (cant think of what it was off hand). But there was a few things that were different and didn't quite make as much sense as Mode 2 did on XP.
Ill mark this down in my guides. Maybe we can Get some decent info collected for both OS's.
