i have a problem with my edirol pcr-m 30: some notes don't respond anymore.
i've opened my unit and removed all the keys.
when i press the sensor, i get Note On messages, so it's not really broken. but after cleaning it and changing the velocity response curves, i still get some "missing" notes.

i don't know what to do now. i think the guarantee has expired.
does anyon have some advice?

Not very helpful, but I had my first one (PCR-30) due to this problem. The replacement they sent me is now starting to do the same thing.

Not very helpful either, but I had exactly the same problem with a PCR-30. The middle C and D keys stopped registering after about a year of ownership. Opened it up and blew some compressed air through but it made no difference.

same here, one of the keys on my pcr went dead a couple of months ago, about 1.5 years old...must be a feature

something similar happened to me, but then i did a factory reset, and reupped my patches.. have you tried that?

How do you factory reset?

nobody reads manuals?

page 89 & 93 of the manual:

1. Press the [EDIT] button. The display will indicate “EDT.”

2. Press the [SYSTEM] key. The display will indicate “SY0.”

3. Use the [0] - [A] keys to specify the System setting that you want to set (Factory Reset is 8 ), and then press the [ENTER] button.

4. The display will indicate “RST.”

5. Press the [ENTER] button. The display will blink “YES.”

6. Press the [ENTER] button.

that doesn't make any sense.. what did you download off the newsgroups? the pcr is a physical controller... you downloaded the drivers? editor? manual? what you said doesn't make sense..

It was a joke. Which 0-A does it want? I don't get a "RST" when pressing any of them.

sorry, i updated the previous post... i forgot to add the number.. but, don't you have a copy of the manual?

Another person who can say that there pcr-30 has keys that stopped working. Wow, that seems like quite a lot.

Also, does anyone know how to fix the fact that some of the midi controls won't send information to LIVE? IE, the knobs and sliders?

I think my second slider, and one of the knobs won't register in LIVE.

You have to download the pcr editor.. then, you'll be able to change the cc's for the controller... you can find it at edirol's site..
