I don't care what you say, this really is in my top ten best albums of all time.
I'd say top five, but Can and Harmonia are fairly dominant in that arena.

Awesome album but one of those albums I think i won't be able to listen to for a very long time as back when it was released there was no place you could escape from it.

may i add that the remix of that album by mad proffessor might even be better?
I know; a remixed album better then the original is a bold statement; but it's true in my opinion

in my top ten/
Portishead reminds me of being stoned in hawaii, back when I first heard Dummy years ago.
We smoked a joint on the beach during the sunset, and when we got home, my brother turned on roads and my brain melted.

Thanks for reminding of that one! Took the opportunity to listen in again after years, on this rainy Saturday evening here in Vienna.
Beautiful music indeed. And those trippy drum loops! Somehow loops that actually feel loopy seem to have disappeared,,, or is it just my listening habits...

Portishead albums definitely stand the test of time, they still sound so good and emotionally engaging after all these years. There is rumor of a new album coming out early next year, turns out they never split up, they just took some time off, so that is good news for all the fans. Of course, there's Massive Attack's Mezzanine which is definitely one of my top 3 'desert island' discs. They are aslo releasing a new one next year and are finally playing in NYC for 3 nights in October. Overjoyed is an understatement, if I could see all 3 shows I certainly would...
Talking to a few folks here in NY about trip-hop lately and we are all sensing a certain 'comeback' is around the corner, which imo is a nice thing. Always liked those laid back smoky/dirty beats, Lavelle et al, the whole Bristol bunch. It's a welcome return...
