Hardware FW800 RAID vs. 10,000 RPM FW400 drive?

I am looking at increasing the performace of my 1.25 Ghz Powerbook. In regard to running Ableton (w/Battery/Kontakt), would I get better performance if I ran a hardware FW800 raid with 320gb 7200 RPM drives or would I do better with a single 10,000 RPM external FW400 drive.
I have read that because audio files are small, a disk's seek times are more important. This leads me to believe a single 10,000 rpm drive would be better.
Any thoughts?
