I currently use Live 4.
Where can I find a list of changes for Live 5 and the upcoming Live 6 so I can compare the versions and see if an upgrade will be of benefit to me?
Regards,
Goseba

I have some bad news for you:
If you upgrade to Live 5, you get a downloadable upgrade to Live 6 for free.
Very sorry about inconvenience...
FYI, we have a "what's new in Live 6" video here:
http://www.ableton.com/pages/live_6/whats_new/movie
I don't think we have a point-by-point listing of specific feature upgrades in Live 5 on our site, though. We've got a general showcase with more vids here, though:

So basically, if you have Live 4 and upgrade to 5 you get Live 6 instead?

Live 6 download version, yep.
http://www.ableton.com/live6-pricing
"Buy or upgrade to Live 5 now and get a free downloadable upgrade to Live 6 as soon as it is available! This offer is valid to all users who unlock their full version of Live 5 after July 14 and before October 31. Instead of the downloadable upgrade you can optionally obtain a boxed version of Live 6 including the Essential Instrument Collection for EUR 99/USD 119."

That's just the kind of crap you'd expect Ableton to pull off with a new release.

Yeah, it's a classic bait-and-switch....

If you upgrade to Live 5, you get Live 5 and then Live 6 when it is released. Sounds better?
best,
Amaury

Ah yes, I neglected that one important detail - assumed it was a given. Thanks Amo!

I was aware of the buy 5 get 6 free offer, that is what piqued my interest.
I guess I will have to dig out some old reviews to see what was added in 5.

I think the best benefit of upgrading from live 4 to 6 (for the price of live 5 upgrade), is that you get the peace of mind that you are not completely insane, which you would otherwise be, had you not upgraded.
