Hi All,

I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with tempo synchronizing Ableton Live on a Windows XP laptop with one or two Macintosh PowerBook G4's. I would like to work in a "band" type situation with multiple laptops, all tempo synced, running paid versions of live 4 to 5.2 (6 soon), with all laptops owning a unique, paid, licence; so there should not be any issues of Live locking up saying that "another version of Live has been detected, Live will now run in demo mode". What is the best way to connect and configure the XP-OSX10.4.7 machines (wireless, bluetooth, firewire, USB, ethernet-LAN)? :?:

I could not find this in the forum anywhere.

Thanks people!

There's a thread in this forum maybe not too far back on this topic where people laid out how to do it with MIDI or over a network. The search function on this site sucks but the thread isn't too far back.

I use MIDI with two XP machines but it's independent to the OS. It's all about the Options->Preferences-> MIDI menu. Turn on the SYNC input on the slave on the correct port, on the master turn on the SYNC on the output on the correct port. Then on the slave hit the EXT button at the top of the Live window. Hit the space bar on the master and they should start and stop together.

I recommend you put the SAME mp3 on every machine and make sure they track, drag the bpm up and down on the master computer. It sucks big time to get into a jam only to have technical issues.

Windows XP-Mac OS 10.4.7 synchronization: THANKS!
