Remote SL bug transmitting midi clock or receiving sync

If I set up the Remote SL to transmit MID clock (BPM), I can no longer use the Remote SL's transport cotnrols (so Live just sits there waiting for a start command).
If I use Ableton as the master device and then sync other devices via the mid outs of the Remote SL, the transmitted midi clock is double or more of what it should be.
If set Ableton to sync to external via the Remote SL midi ins, it receives clock but won't receive "start" message.
I assume these are novation problems (bad bad firmware) but thought it should be documented on the Ableton site as well.
The Remote SL has a wealth of features and lot's of potential, but none of them have been implemented well yet.
