u have to activate the channels in live's preferences -> audio -> settings -> output config button. (do the same for recording -> input config)

thanx 4 yr replies.
i have a 12in mac g4 which only has a stereo sound card. i thought the presonus would allow me to run my hphone and rrun to the master in stereo. i select the presonus in preferences, but i still only get channnel 1 &2 options on the inouts of master channel..
any thoughts?

but did you also configure the outputs?
(on the same tab)
it's not automatic - you have to tell Live what outs to use?

Activate 1+2 for playback and 3+4 for cue in Live preferences.
Also in presonus firebox mixer activate playback 1/2 and playback to phones 3/4

that is not 100% true, you can choose whatever you send to the headphones, 1/2 3/4 5/6 spdif or mix with the firebox mixer.
just select all I/O in lives prefs and use the firebox mixer to make your choice, obviously it has to match your output choice in the cue setting on lives master.

I set up an aggregate device on my macbook which allows me to send cue to the onboard phone socket and the master to my Saffire.
The aggregate device is a combo device made of the saffire and the onboard ins/outs, the "Russ Buss"
This avoids fiddling with both the Live outs and the interface mixer. Just use your interface for your monitoring and the onboard phones socket for your cue and slect those in Lives cue and master out options.

Why he must choose all I/O if he doesn't need it.
Simple 1+2out 3+4 cue
It is up to him to choose wich out and cue.He also can have 3+4 out 5+6 cue
Don't make it complex

you are right, that works as well, just thought to give him all the choices
