Ok, i've searched around the forums and tried avery option but I simply cannot get Live to quanatize properly...I'm so used to turning on my MPC2K and banging out a 4 bar drum pattern with no problem. Usually in one take. For the life of me, drum patterns in Live are always off! I tried reducing the buffer, 1/16th quantize (which is what my MPC is usually set at), no quantize, it doesn't matter...I know how to play but I'm beginning to think that the latency might have to do with it. Do I not have enough memory? I have a toshiba Satelite notebook, Duo Core with 512MB RAM, is that the problem? BTW, if you've seen my other post, i can't use my trigger Finger in Live so I have been programming with the computer keyboard. however, I have the same timing issues on my desktop. I just cannot get a drumm pattern to record in sync..It sounds like my 4 yr old programmed it...Before you guys say maybe I just suck at programmmimg drums, I've been banging beats on my MPC since 1999. Just want to get into the soft ware sequencing scene though. Somebody help please!!

It's a bit of a workaround, but a guy named Peff posted some "groove templates" exported from an MPC for use within Reason. From what I remember, they're just MIDI files, and in reason you save them as a "User Groove" and then quantize your notes off of that. I'm not familiar enough with an MPC to yay or nay it, but I think it went over pretty well. And being that they're just MIDI files, you may be able to work something out in Live.
