Waves are a problem in Live

Unfortunately, there are problems with getting Waves to work correctly in Live. There have are several threads on the Ableton boards about this and it is still unresolved.

I love the Waves plug-ins but the only reliable way of using them with Live is to Rewire Live into Logic, Nuendo, Cubase etc. and apply the Waves plug-ins within the Rewire master.

Or you can render out your tracks from Live and bring the audio files into a DAW for further processing with Waves. This is what I do.

Try out the excellent freeware "fishfillets" vst plug-ins, as well as the PSP line of plug-ins. They work rock solid with Live.

Hope this helps.

on pc, ffx-4 works fine to get waves and directx into Live, and is free, but is heavy on the cpu, and not recommendable to have many instances going for a live performance.

Hi,

the problems with the waveshell should be solved within the upcoming Live 3. Feel free to test the current public beta: www.ableton.com/beta

Alex

sorry for being slightly OT:

i'm using ffx4 to get waves plugins running in live. Curiously this works without problems on my desktop (athlon winXP pro) but when i try the same procedure on my laptop (athlon M winXP home) i get a 'Plug-in error' dialogue when i select a waves plug to drop into the ffx rack. Anyone have any ideas why this might be?
