anybody have one? If I have this right it has 4 knobs which can be pressed, turned, and turned/pressed at the same time? meaning it has 12 controls per preset? I guess i'm going to get one and use the mackie emulation with it but want to know a little bit more about it first.

i use one.

i like it cause it's battery operated and it's dirt cheap so i don't mind bringing it to shows. you have 4 encoders that can be pushed in like buttons giving you a total of 8 buttons. but with 99 preset settings. it's easy to setup. i setup my preset #1 for mackie emulation for use with cubase and ableton like this...

encoder rotate 1: pan 1
encoder rotate 2: pan 2
encoder rotate 3: pan 3
encoder rotate 4: scrub/scroll

encoder push 1: zoom/clip play
encoder push 2: up
encoder push 3: scrub/scene play
encoder push 4: returns

button 1: left
button 2: down
button 3: right
button 4: F11/Master channel (midi note)

my only beef with this is it does remember where you left off your encoders if you switch presets, but not buttons. but for $40 and running on batteries. it's not a big loss, it's a great addition to more pro controllers, if you need a few extra buttons.

ae you saying the 4 buttons under the encoders can be pressed for triggering? you say 4 encoder rotatate, 4 encoder push and 4 buttons. Isn't that 12 functions one preset?

8 buttons, 4 encoders = 12 fuctions. yes. you can use the buttons for triggering as well.

buy a keyboard. this doesn't have velocity. they're just on/off buttons.
