removing older versions of Live

I've continued to stay current with Live updates and version changes but have never erased the previous versions installed on my computer. Is there any reason I should keep them installed or can I remove them? I'm just worried that if I remove anything it might have "links" to stuff I'm working on now. What is the best way to remove these older versions yet protect the any of the libraries or sound files that came with them?

Your upgrades are not actually upgrades, but complete installed packages. Although you might have chosen to not download the library when you upgraded. I'm not certain how the uninstall works (it's been a while), but to be sure you could make a (temporary) copy of the library until you've uninstalled all previous versions.
