it's not the software mate.
time, dedication, patience, and good ideas.
there's no shortcuts i'm afraid.

Experience and practice man, it's the ears not the gear.

i know he started of many moons ago with buzz , so try there... other than that no idea - though i did have an interesting conversation with him a couple years back about that bloodlock track he did with sarsha. didnt give much insight into how he makes tunes though... in my opinion though the current stuff is okay - but wish he was still rattling tracks out like solstice, that track is immense - the arrangement of it is sheer briliance!! another great tune he did was fancy arse - outstanding progression into some real 303 mayhem!!

the trick is to amke music every day.
it has to become like another bodily fluid.
wake up... shit... coffee... beats... breakfast... smoke a cigarette... check last night's work... email... beats... make some phone calls... find out where the party is this weekend... beats... smoke a joint... beats... beats... start thinking aout dinner... beats... go grocery shopping... beats...
etc.etc.etc.

I remember hearing in an interview he did on some japanese site
that he sometimes uses an old casio keyboard.
He'll play the casio thru a guitar amp and sample it off the speakers.
so you can try that.
