Where are you setting up? What's the deal-io?

I'm too big of a pussy to play out but I like to get together with friends and jam.

Oh, and Pitch Black is playing 9/21, a week from today at the Supperclub, I'll be there that night.

Does Oakland count? I'd love to be involved but I don't think I'll have a presentable live act before the end of the year.

its going to be at PLAYbar, at 6th and mission. its newly re opened so they are letting me do whatever i want there. the space is very decent sized [150+] and there is plenty of wall space for video projection.

if you have something, come play it. this is a chilled out affair and most of the people there will be other music geeks, so there is no need to feel like you arent good enough. just a nice wednesday night place to play and drink and chill out amongst other electronic musicians.

i will have the sign up page up by tommorrow evening.

ok, so the name of the weekly is now official; backlit lounge sf.

it will happen every wednesday starting sept 20th, from 8pm to 2am[ish]. there is one main room, but we are investigating opening up the bar to performances also.

there will be 8, 45 minute, performance slots each week. we also have 2 vj slots per night. if you would like to perform, send an email to [email protected] . although you do not have to have a website or any of that, if you do, please send the links as they will help us describe you.

i just created the myspace profile that will act as our "hub" until we set up a proper domain and server situation. http://www.myspace.com/backlitloungesf it will look decent by this time tommorrow. and we also have our first artist; substanz d, a local graphics and video artist/movie critic [the net based "broke ass movie review] will be flexing with a multi system fruityloops/ableton live set. one up, seven slots to go...

well, i'll be there later - this winter, and will want to get in most def.

For years i was involved in something similar in nyc called "unity gain." It was a lot of fun and i met a lot of great people and musicians doing it.

good luck and have fun!

I'm across the bay in the O.

I think I got enough decent stuff for a live set, except that my hands shake when I perform live at anything.

I'm afraid I won't be able to mouse as effectively and might not be steady enough to click on THOSE TINY LITTLE FUCKING ARROWS.

I sense a midi controller in my near future..

I'm down, I started out doing video art at events with vello virkhaus/and lotsa corporate whoring :) I'll be back in the bay next week and I have a load of visual stuff under my exes house in Oak that I might have to subvertly reclaim without seeing her. If I don't sell my projector before I get back, I'll have one of them too. I'm more into Live and audio now, but I'm not sure I have a full set s worth at the moment.
edit: I had more than enough for a full set before I got robbed, just one of the reasons I'm moving back to SF
cheers on starting a laptop night!
