Hi Guys sorry if they may seem a stoopid question. But im still a wee bit confused sometimes on where to exactly place the 1.1.1 marker in relation to the waveform.

I have posted a picture below with two examples.

a) a has the marker placed on the very first wav form

as where

b) has its marker moved up towards the waveform peak more.

Im guessing (a) is the correct way ? feedback be greatly appreciated

the problem with b is that you'd be cutting the initial forward and backward movement of the wave, thus changing the sound of the attack.

It doesn't matter as long as you're consistent with
all of your markers in that clip.

I've gone back and used older sets and noticed
I warped differently back then than I do today.

I always have 1 clip I use as the reference, a drum
loop that's the basis of the groove for a set, if
it sounds right warped to that clip, it's all good.

'A' is more correct because in looping zero crossings
are easier on the ears when they transition.

Just do whatever sounds right.

I don't even look at the waveforms when warping. I use the flappy folds of skin with the holes in them on the sides of my cranium...
