Some 'qwerty' keys not triggering?

This is very odd. I'm sure all the 'qwerty' keys were working before. When I assign them they all show up as assigned. However, when I try using them not all of them work (no response at all). The number keys all work, as do - Q R I P [ ] \ : ' N M , . / none of the other keys seem to send anything. Obviously, they are read by live as I see the letters assigned in the map mode. So, I'm assuming it's a Live issue. Also the keys seem to work fine assigned in other programs. I really need those extra keys! I'm doing laptop battle in 2 weeks where I'm only allowed I midi controller!
Please, any help.

Are you sure the keyboard symbol is not lit up in the upper hand side of the screen?
This puts Live into playable keyboard emulation mode and won't trigger using the keys.

Duh...geez I can't believe I didn't know that. Thanks a lot Kennerb. That's why it's so great to have this forum. Funny I've been using Live for like 3 years and never questioned what that icon was for. So, keyboard emulation mode..(I just tried to look it up in the manual and couldn't find anything)..it does what now?
Thanks, you're a life saver.

No sweat. Live is so vast. You wouldn't believe how many times I have had a 'doh!' moment where I found a feature or shortcut I have been overlooking for years. That key thing is a newer feature as well so a lot of us old timers miss it. Anyway that symbol turns your Qwerty into a playable keypad complete with octave change and sharps/flats. Works great in a pinch when ya got no controller handy.

Awesome! That could come in handy. Thanks again.
