Hey guys. I am in need of some drum samples and loops that is used in trip hop/ downtempo production. So it is that real, dynamic, sometimes dirty and sound... but not really drum machine samples. Just real ones that sound warm, deep, jazzy... where can I find such things... I have looked everywhere but always come awai with sample CDs that have loops and samples that are synthesized samples and tweeked out to the point where it does not sound real.

big fish audio is where i get all my sample cd's. i have one from elab called smokers delight that has some of what you need, check out big fish audio though for sure, you should find what you need there.

go on down to the record store, and spend $100 on some used vinyl

I don't know where you live so this may not be an option but the public libraries here have a pretty good selection of cds. I can go to the library and check out jazz cds or even boxed sets and sample away. Not that I do that because I don't really sample that much, but I could.

bbe released ings of jazz a compilation by giles peterson and jazzanova.....it was put well together....a lot of those kings of compilation were recorded under nice warm analog gear that even when transferred to cd form they continue to retain their warmth.


yea but either a school or public library is another great place to go diggin for free samples..................a while back i saw the mash soundtrack in my school library and was able to sample the theme song done by ahmad jamal.
