Help with recording those "Those Special (MIDI) Moments"
Posted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:09 pm
Hello all,
I have am very interested in the following technique that is posted as a routing tutorial on the Ableton site. (please see below) Where i run into problems is when i do the following lesson, the new midi track which is intended to record the the changes from the MIDI effects is recorded "dry" and is basically a copy of original track without the efx.
In short, I really need to record a midi track that refects the changes that the midi effects make to it
Any tips and help on this topic would be great!

Those Special Moments
You can also record MIDI data between tracks just as you would with audio. Suppose you have a MIDI clip playing an instrument and you have used some of Live's MIDI effects to spice things up.
You like the results and would like this to be a new MIDI clip.
Simply set up another MIDI track to record the results as a new MIDI clip.
By now I am sure you are beginning to see how powerful the new routing possibilities are in Live 4. You can streamline your setup and creatively enhance your mixes very easily with routing. So go ahead, experiment and find some new tricks of your own.
