I can not understand the prices Ableton put up?
549€ for EU and 599$ US, the dollar is much lower than the euro.
In Sweden where I live it is almost 73€ euro in difference=104$ if I could buy the US version.
How come?

It might be a VAT charge for EU citizens.
Or may be they are charging what they think the market will bear, I believe things generally are less expensive in the US.

It's very odd.
Live 5 in EU is is €469
https://www.ableton.com/shop?region=eu
Live 5 in US is $469
https://www.ableton.com/shop?region=non_eu
yet US$ 469 = €369
that means Live is €100 more expensive in Europe than the states.
or, conversely, Live is 126.94 US$ cheaper for people who don't live in Europe.
woo, go Europe!

Either shops in Europe advertise everything at list prices and not street or Europe has to pay more for just about every peice of gear I've seen. Hardware, software it dosen't matter. I've never seen one peice of gear advertised for less money then here in the States...
No idea why that is.

In the USA there is sales tax to be added. Most prices are displayed without sales tax. Sales tax varies from state to state.
In the EU we have VAT - which is mainly the same - around 17.5%. This is usually included in the displayed price.
If you import a USA version then you will need to pay the VAT when it comes into the EU.
So it's not obvious to compare like with like.

You have a nicer country man. If you want to get the cheap price you need to also put up with Bush, <
http://www.schwarzenegger.com/>, reality TV, bad manners, and MacDonalds - though you do get cheap fuel bundled in.

they probably don't want to change it too often (with exchange rates varying), and keep a fixed price.
