there are workarounds but the fact that a EUR 169 sampler lacks a basic feature such as found in the simpler..

this is from memory so it might be slightly wrong but: you can assign sample start to a limited number of midi controllers (mod wheel, pitch wheel, etc) within sampler's midi pane, but not in midi assign mode. why they set things up this way i have no idea.

YES! Sampler should be as fun/flexible as Simpler in these regaurds!
