when using automation in live, using it's own devices you can click on the parameter and the automation red line appears in the arrange view. but it doesnt seem to be working with 3rd party vst???

i'm sure this did work fine in live 5, and its nicer than having to scroll through long lists of parameters...

anyone else confirm this?

the automation parameter does not show automatically if you click on the VST GUI, but it does if you choose the parameter from the Ableton generic view of the plugin (the one that appears if you click the little arrow on the plugin device, in the detail view).

yes, that's the way i meant (using the ableton vst parameter list).
but i can only seem to get it to change if i right click on the parameter... left click doesnt bring up the corresponding red line in the arrange view???

i also forgot to mention i'm using a remote SL with automap enabled, with OS v2.

In Live 6, if "show only automated parameters" is chosen in the clip envelope editor or automation drop-down menus in Arrangement, clicking on the devices parameters won't show that parameter automatically id that parameter is not already automated or modulated.
