Why is no one using this controller?

im just gonna go out on a limb here and guess that a rig like that is kind of cost prohibitive for the average live user...

it's also fairly pointless without the perfectly calibrated touch sensitive samples, so its sensitivity/responsiveness would be fairly worthless with the samples or sounds most live users use (and why would a drummer want to get rid of sticks and go with fingers?).

you should check out futureman from Bela Fleck and the flecktones
he does brilliant drumming with his hands using a custom made controller similiar to this one...

Simple answer?
Because you can make the same thing yourself for $200.
The piezos u tap on are like $2. Then you can plug into a drum module
like the D4 or whatever, or build your own.
That thing is WAY over priced.
btw search out Futureman from Bela Flec and the Flecktones, Victor
Wootens brother on a modified Synth-axe with piezo triggers. He
sometimes uses a Zen Drum, but think they probably gave it to him for
free.
As for playing with fingers being somehow bad, it's actually really sensitive
being an analog input. For me being a bass player it's the only logical way
to go.
