Ableton Forum

I am not a computer expert,so i ahve upgrade to live 6 and then i have lost my samples.Any time i am trying to open some sounds in simpler it says missing samples.I don't know what is going on.
Can some one please help but please explain this very much because i am not a computer expert.

likely, these are samples from the Essentials Live Pack
of Live 5, we will provide a Live 5 Compatiblity Pack
that should fix the problem.

I wanted to say when i try to open a simpler preset,some presets don't open,it says always missing samples.

That came with live 5

I had to delete all the Live versions and i installed all again,except Live 6,live 6 cd is seating on my table.
Sorry but i am not a computer expert and i don't how to doit.It says somewhere to buck up my library before to install live 6.But i don't know how to doit.

yes, this is probably a problem we just noticed:
when installing the Basics Live Pack of Live 6
(this happens automatically during the first start)
some samples that came with Live 5 are removed.

As said, we will provide a Live Pack with these samples
during the next few days.

Can i install live 6 now?Or sould i wait until the Live Pack is ready?

Will future updates of Live 6 include the missing presets or must everyone continue to download the packs?

the problem will be fixed in 6.0.2.


Hi DJ VAKIS,

you could do the following:

1) locate your Live 5 Library on disk
(the path is listed in the prefrences under 'Misc', 'Library')

2) in this library folder, there is a folder 'Waveforms'.
Rename this folder, lets say to 'Live5Waveforms'

3) Install Live 6 and let it upgrade the Live 5 Library

4) Rename the folder 'Live5Waveforms' back to 'Waveforms'

PLEASE HEEEELPP (and hello people.. first post)

i installed the demo version of 6 to have a look, now when i use 5, the simpler and impulse have no presets... i don't know where they've gone.. i've searched for them everywhere... can anyone offer any advice please?

ps. i wont be buying 6, so i need them back for 5

Sorry where is this folder?
I go Users- Library- application support-ableton-Library-and here i have waveforms you mean this?
Sorry but i can not find the path in preferences under misc.Library.I don't know.
Can you help?
